Alberta

Mount Royal College, Calgary, Alberta

Technical Writing Certificate

 The College offers two Technical Writing Certificate of Achievement programs: Introductory and Advanced.  

Mount Royal College has revised and enhanced the technical writing program offering a Technical Writing Extension Certificate of Completion. To receive your certificate, you must complete 11 courses.

British Columbia

Kalamalka Institute for Working Writers by Lorin Ledger (KIWW—Kalamalka is the name of a popular and beautiful lake in the region) offers a Certificate in Commercial Creative Writing through the Okanagan University College in BC. There are many writing courses offered. Those interested in Technical Writing may be interested in the following: Research Skills, Proofreading/Copy-Editing, Editing, Reviewing, Writing for the Web, Technical Writing, and Writing Computer Software Manuals.

Simon Fraser University, Continuing Studies, The Writing and Publishing Program, Vancouver, British Columbia

At Simon Fraser University, students complete nine interrelated courses, plus one elective in The Writing and Publishing Program. Students must complete a minimum of 162.5 hours of instruction and the program can be taken part-time and designed so you can proceed at your own pace.

Ontario

Seneca College, Technical Communication Post-Diploma Certificate Program, North York, Ontario  

Seneca College offers a one-year Technical Communication Post-Diploma Certificate Program, where students take two semesters of full-time study and the opportunity of one semester of full-time cooperative work experience. Applicants must have a university degree, college diploma or relevant experience. The program's integrated curriculum is designed to help students to:

  • Develop the professional writing skills needed to communicate clearly and efficiently to specific audiences and the research, project management, and collaboration skills needed to work effectively within organizations

  • Use the software (including FrameMaker and RoboHelp) most frequently required by employers

  • Gain experience in meeting the real communication needs of industry

Algonquin College, School of Advanced Technology, Technical Writer Ottawa, Ontario

Algonquin College offers a one-year post-diploma technical writing certificate that is divided into three semesters of study. 

George Brown University, Toronto, Ontario
