2010 Conference Volunteer Coordinator Needed!

A successful CIC SIG conference experience begins and ends with the numerous volunteers who handle such tasks as planning the Monday night dinner, publishing the CIC SIG session roadmap, staffing the CIC SIG table at the welcome reception, and other tasks.

Our CIC SIG is need of a volunteer to coordinate these other volunteers for the 2010 Communications Summit.  The task starts in late March/early April, and consists of fielding responses from our "Call for Conference Volunteers" request, assigning tasks to the people who volunteer, and following up with those volunteers.  You do not have to attend the conference to coordinate the conference volunteers.

If you would be interested in donating a total of about 15 hours of your time to handle the Conference Volunteer Coordinator position, contact our CIC SIG Manager, Suzanne Guess.

STC Technical Communication Summit Subsidies Available!

Are you planning to attend the Technical Communication Summit this year in Dallas? If so, request a CIC SIG subsidy to help cover some of your expenses. The subsidy is available to members who serve as CIC SIG management team members or volunteers from May 2009 - present.

To learn how members are selected for a subsidy and how to request one, click Conference Reimbursement Policy. Then, send your subsidy request to Chanda Child by Wednesday, March 31, 2010.

NOTE: Subsidy dollars may not be available before the Summit. If your request is accepted and funds are not available before the summit, your award amount will be reimbursed after the Summit.
