| Manager's Message By Dan Charles, Emerging Technology SIG Manager Soon to be created on the Emerging Technology Web site is a Resources page. When new resources are discovered, they will be announced in the newsletter and will then show up in the SIG's Resources page, which will be a permanent home. I want to include one or two sentence descriptions of each resource to help guide people to what they are looking for, and offer a method for people to post new resources and their reviews of them and the existing resources. Currently the resources have two main categories: Technology Planning, and Technology News (mostly magazines at this point). We will publish a list of ET SIG members soon so that you can see which STC members share a similar interest with you regarding emerging technology. We want to protect that list as a members only section, and until that is created we will not publish the list. I didn't have time to write up an article regarding the rechartering of the SIG, but look for such an article in the next issue of The Edge. The ET Annual SIG Meeting will be in Las Vegas, Nevada at the STC Annual Conference, May 7-10, 2006. The exact day and time have not been determined, but that information should be available soon. |
