How to block HTML, untrimmed posts, attachments, and messages with "digest" in the subject

As of October 20, 2005 list managers can block HTML and other formatted text, untrimmed posts, and attachments. As of March 12, 2006 list managers can block messages with the word "digest" in the subject. It's possible to block any or all of these.

Instructions for blocking these types of messages

To block these types of messages, create four action phrases on your list. The steps are:

  1. Log in to the list.
  2. List Admin > Action Phrases > Create Phrase.
  3. Enter the Phrase. The text for each appears in the next section.
  4. Select the corresponding STC_document, where document is NoHTML, NoAttach,
    NoQuotedCruft (for untrimmed posts), or STC_NoDigestReply. IMPORTANT: Do not use any other documents. Only the sitewide STC_documents work if you are blocking multiple types of messages.
  5. Save.

In the last phrase, substitute the name of your list for listname and be
sure the phrase "You are currently subscribed to listname as" is in the
footer of messages that your lists sends and in the footer of the digest. Again listname is the name of your list, which may be expressed as a variable in the footers.
