STC Email List Training
How to set your email client to send plain text
There are three ways to set the format of a message:
- Globally for all messages in the program's options, so all messages are sent in either text or HTML.
- For the recipient in the address book, so that recipient always receives either text or HTML.
- For the current message, so it goes out in either text or HTML (whichever is not set as the default).
Some corporate email systems set all outgoing mail to HTML, regardless of settings selected by the individual user. Some corporate email systems have many users sending via web mail. Subscribers with these types of systems may want to use a free email service to post to the list, or post from the list website.
The AOL client always sends formatted (HTML) mail. AOL users can post to the list from the AOL site, or from the list website.
