Another experiment...

Double the fun!

This issue of Hyperviews:Online is another experiment for our newsletter staff: Pre-conference and post-conference issues.

Let me explain. For the first two years of Hyperviews:Online, the Spring issue has always been a challenge. Do we deliver before the STC Conference and talk about Online Information activities in which you can participate at the conference? Or, do we deliver after the STC Conference and report the Online Information activities and trends they suggest to our profession? And what can we do to accommodate our fearless volunteer contributors? They want to deliver their columns and articles, but many of them are busy getting ready for the conference, too.

This year, assistant editor Judy Fisher came up with the obvious answer: publish before and after issues so we can accomplish all of the above! Wow, work the web! ;-)

So, if you're wondering where some of our articles and columns are, now you know. We will publish them in the post-conference issue along with our traditional report from the STC Conference. We'll try to pull this off by the beginning of June. Scott will send out an e-mail to let you know when the Hyperviews:Online staff has completed their work on the post-conference issue.

And speaking of fun...

If you are at the conference, Judy Fisher and I invite you to participate in our workshop session "A Beginner's Introduction to Prototyping Online Information" (TT 3Y) We'll be using group exercises to teach prototyping and testing techniques for online information. We hope to see you there!

Finally, don't forget that Hyperviews:Online welcomes articles and columns on any facet of technical communication in online information. If you have an idea, contact us. If you're in Orlando for the STC Conference, look for either Scott DeLoach or myself. We'll both be there and eager to hear your suggestions.
