Join Our Team!

It's recruiting time for the SIG! We have a number of positions that we would like to fill, and I am now searching for someone who might like to lead the SIG.

Want to get involved? We are looking to fill the following positions:

SIG Manager
After six fun years, I am now looking for someone to lead the SIG as our new SIG manager. The responsibilities are to assist the newsletter editor with Hyperviews:Online, provide quarterly reports on the SIG, and oversee any SIG projects. If you are interested, please contact me at scott@userfirst.net.

Regional Representatives
Regional representatives serve as local contacts for our members. As a regional representative, you might be asked about local STC events or to assist new chapter-level SIGs. We have openings for regions 1, 2, 3, 6, and 8. This position does not require a lot of time, and most of your work will probably be through e-mail. Send me an e-mail at scott@userfirst.net if you are interested or if you want to know more.

Columnist
Columnists write (or have others write) one article per quarter focusing on a specific area of online communication. We are open to suggestions, but some potential columns could be the following:

  • Browser-based help and tools
  • Web technologies
  • Online design
  • Various product tips and tricks
  • Web site reviews (pick a site and review it)
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Multimedia

Special Offers Coordinator
Solicit and post special offers for online information-related products (conferences, books, software, services, and so forth). Interested? Send me an e-mail at scott@userfirst.net.

In Your Neighborhood

As many of you know, many chapters have a local Online SIG. If your chapter doesn’t have an Online SIG and you want to start one, let me know. I would really like to help. And for all you chapter-level Online SIG leaders — Thanks for all of your hard work!

Scott DeLoach is the Manager of the Online Information SIG. In his spare time, he is a Founding Partner of User First Services, an Atlanta-based consulting and training firm. He loves to receive e-mail about the Online SIG at scott@userfirst.net.
