Wanna see the world?

Next issue, Hyperviews:Online will focus on online technical communication around the world. If you would like to contribute, please let me know. We would like to feature short summaries of what it is like to work outside the US and Canada. Specifically:

  • What do you do?
  • How big is the tech writing community?
  • How is Internet/phone access in your country?
  • How is computer availability?
  • How does pay compare to other countries and other professions?
  • What tools do you use?
  • Are you a citizen or are you working abroad?
  • How is the computer industry in your country?

If you are interested, please send me an e-mail at scott@userfirst.net. Thanks!

What's goin' on?

We have a number of projects underway: the membership database, special offers, and, of course, Hyperviews:Online. If you are interested in helping with any of the projects, we could certainly use the support! Or, if you know of another project for us, please let me know.

You can reach me at scott@userfirst.net.

Ready to write an article?

We are always looking for articles. If you would like to provide a book review, tool review, conference summary, case study, or an article about online communication, we would love to receive it! Or, if you have seen a great article in a local STC newsletter, please let us know. In exchange for your time, we offer a lifetime of fame and fortune. OK, I can't promise that... but I can promise to share your thoughts with over 3,200 interested technical communicators!

Got an idea? Send it to me at scott@userfirst.net.

In your neighborhood

As many of you know, over 20 chapters have a local Online SIG. If your chapter doesn't have an Online SIG and you want to start one -- or if you are having trouble generating meeting ideas -- let me know. I would really like to help. And for all you chapter-level Online SIG leaders -- Thanks for all of your hard work!

If you are not sure if your chapter has an Online SIG, click here to see the list of chapter-level SIGs.

Return to Home Page Scott DeLoach is the Manager of the Online Information SIG. He loves to receive e-mail about the Online SIG at scott@userfirst.net.
