Membership news, March 2006

April 11, 2006. In March the Online SIG gained 100 members. As of March 31, the Online SIG had 2254 members, with 18412 members in STC.

Online SIG members Michelle Corbin, John Garison, and Jane Smith have been elected Associate Fellows of STC. Online SIG manager Ann L. Wiley has been elected a Fellow of STC.

Membership news, February 2006

March 3, 2006. In February the Online SIG gained 159 members. As of February 28, the Online SIG had 2176 members, with 17,895 members in STC.

Lou Quillio wins the Distinguished SIG Service Award

February 6, 2006. Our technical lead on the STC and Online SIG Dynamic Web Services teams has won the Distinguished SIG Service Award for the Online SIG, for the 2005 to 2006 year. This award was made by the STC Board at the January meeting and recognizes Lou's work on the STC Forum (http://stcforum.org) and STC Online (coming soon http://stc-on.org). Congratulations and thanks Lou!

Membership news, October 2005 through January 2006

February 6, 2006. In January the Online SIG gained 164 members; as of January 31, the SIG had 2130 members with 17,521 members in STC. In December, 2005 the Online SIG gained 87 members. On December 31 the SIG had 2034 members, with 17,176 members in STC.

In November the Online SIG gained 68 members. As of November 30 the Online SIG had 1988 members and STC had 16,976 members.

On November 2, membership Manager John Wilcox reported we had 65 new members join during October. For the first time, John sent the welcome message from our email list server, so our new members could join the list by clicking Reply and Send.

In mid-November we sent news of the SIG to all members, inviting everyone to reply and join the list. Our overall subscription rate for all invitations in November was 20 percent. As of December 11, 505 members are subscribed to the email list.

Online SIG leads coalition to develop dynamic web services

November 2, 2005. Our Online SIG Web Experts, joined by members of the Single Sourcing and Illustrators and Visual Designers SIG, are developing dynamic web services for STC. An STC Forum will be online soon, followed by group blogs, wikis, a dynamic calendar, and workflow publishing. Watch for announcements and news, and please participate when you receive your invitation.

Online SIG Membership report, July through September 2005

October, 2005. In August and September 2005, 81 new members joined the Online SIG. As of September 30, the Online SIG had 1911 members. In July 2005, 31 new members joined and as of July 31, the Online SIG had 1830 members, up from 1800 on June 30.

July 8, 2005. Karen McPhail (karen.mcphail@oomc.com) is editor of the Ongoing educational opportunities page. Karen is a Senior Policy and Procedure Writer for Option One Mortgage Corporation, the mortgage arm of H&R Block. OOMC Corporate is based in Irvine, CA, however, Karen telecommutes from Kalamazoo,MI.

Karen has been with OOMC for six years, and started as a Servicing Procedure Specialist doing research and documentation. OOMC is Karen's first tech comm job; her prior background is in mortgage servicing where she held several positions, literally from Mail Room Clerk to Escrow Administration Manager.

Karen currently attends Western Michigan University to complete her BA in English and is a member of the West Michigan Shores chapter of STC.

Membership news, April through June 2005

July 7, 2005. In April 2005, 68 new members joined the Online Information SIG. In May 2005, the SIG gained 71 members. In June 2005, the SIG gained 47 members. As of June 30, the Online SIG had 1800 members, up from 1753 on May 31.
