ISO JTC 1/SC 7 WG2 committee begins project to replace standards

August 14, 2005. The ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 7 WG2 committee has begun a project to replace the ISO documentation standards with one coherent suite of documents, and to absorb the relevant IEEE documentation standards at the same time.

This project will extend for years. An early task is a user documentation standard for managers, covering roles and job descriptions, process, documentation plan content, suite design, testing, configuration management, metadata, audience and task analysis, estimation, work breakdown structure, quality metrics and tools and infrastructure requirements.
