Member Profiles Column |

It takes more than a supply list and a dream to do quality work. It takes at least three able bodies and a spool of twine, to pave the driveway; or DIY (do it yourself) and count on adding 50 percent onto your original estimate if you know what you're doing … if not, double it. Joan Mason, Fix-Up Reality Check. Home Magazine, October 2002, p.90. We (quality advocates) seek the meaning and value of quality. We examine, analyze, and collaborate. We measure and calculate; then, at some point in a process, we decide that its quality is sufficient. This column offers profiles, so that we (SIG members) can answer the question: Who are we? Who holds the twine, and who pounds the sand? Through individual profiles, we will learn about each other's skills, and how they apply in our quest for quality. At this virtual water cooler, we'll also explore interests and talents we choose for our leisure time. Selection of Quality SIG members to be profiled will be handled by the editor and the columnist. Simply send a message expressing your willingness to be interviewed. Two SIG members will be chosen for each quarterly issue of DocQment. I will contact you and discuss the best methods to conduct an interview. All sand-pounders, twine-holders and such, may volunteer by contacting Marla Davis at stcqsig@yahoo.com. Members, let me hear from you. Marla Davis |
