Message from the SIG Manager

A primary activity of the Quality and Process Improvement SIG is publication of our website, where we publish our project output, articles, and news. We are preparing to move to a dynamic site, where everyone will be able to post information.

We also work on articles for STC publications. In 2006 the Quality and Process Improvement SIG will host a table at the STC Annual Conference Networking Lunch and will highlight related sessions.

Through these activities we provide support for one another in quality and process activities, and promote quality in our products and areas of responsibility.

Our rechartering report and strategic plan has been approved by the Board and posted on this site (pdf). Opportunities to volunteer are listed below.

How to join the SIG

Membership in the Quality and Process Improvement SIG is open to STC members only. To see the chapters and SIGs you belong to, log in on the STC site and on the page that opens, click the link for your profile (also at STC Members > Member Services > My STC Profile). To join the QPI SIG, download the "SIG sign-up form" (pdf). Complete the form and return it to STC. Please provide an email address that you check often, because communication with members is by email. To join STC, download and complete a membership application or join online at www.stc.org/join.asp.

Volunteer opportunities

Contribute to DocQment. Add information about how to implement a standard or how to facilitate and implement improvement. Report news related to quality and business processes. Ask the SIG manager to designate you as a Contributor.

Participate in the standards study in the Standards forum on the STC Forum.

Prepare a list of the articles in archived issues of the Quality SIG newsletter. Please let the SIG manager know which issue you are working on: ann@annlwiley.com

Help develop a customer satisfaction survey to be administered annually for the Quality and Process Improvement SIG and other STC groups if they are interested. This project starts soon on the STC Forum
