Some comments and instructions in this page are for audio browsers and users who browse this site with screen readers. If you can see this paragraph and you are not using a text-only or screen reader browser, either the style sheet for screen viewing didn't load (if so, click on "refresh" to reload the style sheet), or you need to use a World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards-supporting browser that has full HTML 4.0.1 Strict and cascading style sheet (CSS) level 2 support. (For information about these browsers, see Standards-supporting browsers.) The Society for Technical Communication is a W3C member: http://www.w3.org/
For additional information, see the Accessibility Design and Features page.

Access keys are activated by pressing Alt (for Windows) or control (for Mac) and the access key character (in some browsers, the access keys are activated by releasing the Alt or control key, then pressing the access key character, then pressing the Enter key). The Tab key will also get you through the page.
Because Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) positioning rules are used in the style sheet, you may find that only Alt 1 (top) works in the latest visual browsers. All four keys should work in older browsers that don't support CSS positioning standards.
Pull browser window out or in to widen or shorten line length.
Support the A-SIG's operating expenses! On this site, all products purchased through the Amazon.com Associates Store (aStore™ Beta) below and any of the search boxes and book links in our lists of Suggested Reading Lists for books related to accessibility, usability, and technical communication, contain an ID code that identifies the A-SIG in the Amazon.com Associates program. You may purchase books, music, appliances, apparel, tools, computer software and hardware, and more. Items purchased through these links provide us with a commission of up to 8.5% of each sale. (There is no change in the price of any item.) We may also use these funds to help support the chapter's budget for operating expenses, printing, and so forth.
Notes: IE laptop users may want to use the standalone site at http://astore.amazon.com/stcaccessabil-20. The aStore™ is a Beta release. Because the store is coded by Amazon.com, it is not possible at this time to resize the layout so it fits inside our page when being viewed in narrow browser windows. Occassionally the aStore will not be available when amazon.com adds updates to the Beta program.
Note: It takes a few extra seconds to load from the amazon.com site.
If the right panel looks lopped off on the right, widen your browser window to show the full panel.
If your browser doesn't support embedding the store in this page, go to http://astore.amazon.com/stcaccessabil-20 standalone site, which will take you away from the STC A-SIG site. Please use the Back button to return to our site.
