E-Learning or Distance Training Has Its Challenges

    But Cost Savings Outweigh Them

E-learning can be a very cost-effective method to deliver training. It can also be used effectively for company orientation, updating customer service benchmarks, software instruction, and more.

E-learning is a cost-effective training method, but only if you avoid the pitfalls

What matters most is the planning and preparation that precedes the development of e-learning projects. Mark Steiner has 15 years of experience in developing and managing custom e-learning programs and has taught graduate level courses on them. He has a BS in Industrial Technology, MS in Industrial Training, and has been project manager, lead instructional designer, and lead programmer for several companies’ e-learning programs.

STC is offering two webinars where Steiner will share his knowledge on e-learning:

    • Estimating the Cost of E-Learning Projects, Wednesday, 4 November, 1:00–2:30 PM EST (GMT-5)
    • Strategies for Successful E-Learning Project Management, Wednesday, 11 November, 1:00–2:30 PM EST (GMT-5)

Avoid the pitfalls of e-learning by knowing how to accurately estimate the skills, time, and resources required to complete a project, plus the process, role of those involved, milestones, and costs. Steiner’s real world examples will keep the 90-minute sessions lively and on track.
