How to Join the Community

The Usability and User Experience Community is open to members of the Society for Technical Communication. STC is an individual membership organization dedicated to advancing the arts and sciences of technical communication - it is the largest organization of its type in the world. Its 20,000 plus members include technical writers, editors, graphic designers, videographers, multimedia artists, and others whose work involves making technical information available to those who need it.

As of the 2005 membership year, SIGs (Special Interest Groups) are now part of the full membership packages. You can join a SIG or Community of Practice as part of your membership options. One SIG and one Chapter, or three SIGs, are part of the base membership; other SIGs can be added for a nominal cost.

Members receive the quarterly newsletter, Usability Interface and take part in SIG activities at the STC Annual Conference as well as special projects throughout the year.
