Distinguished SIG Service Award

This year's Distinguished SIG Service Awards go to Allen Rotz and Chauncey Wilson, honoring their long work with the community. Congratulations to them both.

Allen Rotz is always someone we can count on to participate in the activities and growth of STC Usability and User Experience (UUX). As leader of the Washington DC Usability SIG, he shares information about usability training, serves as a liaison to related usability groups (such as SIG-CHI and UPA) with local chapters in the DC area, and leads the group enthusiastically. Within the UUX community, he shares his insights and passion for usability through contributions to the newsletter, regular participation on the discussion list, and active support of community activities. While not a UUX activity, his involvement with developing the UID stem of the 2005 conference benefits all of STC and is indicative of his excellent service. His citation reads:

Allen Rotz: For your steadfast leadership of the Washington DC Usability SIG and for enthusiastically giving so much time, effort, and creativity in STC Usability and User Experience activities.

Chauncey Wilson has been a mentor and leader in the STC Usability and User Experience (UUX) community since its inception. His contributions include managing and actively participating the discussion list, developing a list of resources for the UUX website, and being a champion for usability within STC. His advice and leadership have been invaluable to promoting usability and growing the UUX community. His citation reads:

Chauncy Wilson: For steadfast support of STC Usability and User Experience and in recognition of your many contributions as a mentor and leader in the community.
