Editorial:
What Happened to Usability Interface

By David Dick

Since May 2005, the production team and I have been on sabbatical. We expected to return in October, but professional and personal commitments continued to dominate our lives. I am happy to announce that we have returned. Our Web site is updated and this issue is the first of the 2005-2006 season. Starting with this issue, the newsletter is online and ends our traditional newsletter format.

We cannot have a newsletter without contributions. Special thanks to the following contributors of this issue:

  • Geoff Hart,
  • Cheryl L. Coyle
  • Scott McDaniel
  • Jacqueline Remus & Jessyca Frederick

We need your contributions for publication in future issues. The following topics are favorites of readers:

  • Anecdotes about your efforts to champion usability and improve product design
  • Case studies
  • Book reviews
  • Reviews of new tools and technologies
  • News and events of local usability special interest groups

We cannot have a newsletter without volunteers. Would you like to help with publication of the newsletter? We have many opportunities for you that require less than one hour a week of your time:

  • Proofread articles
  • Copy edit articles
  • Write a column about tools, technologies, product design, and so on.

What’s on your mind? Please send your comments and suggestions to me at davidjdick2000@yahoo.com.
